The new Answer to Cancer Lottery will raise funds to support critical cancer care throughout Eastern Ontario. “Unlike other province-wide lotteries, every dollar raised through ticket sales stays right here in our community to support cancer treatment, research, patient care and education,” said Linda Eagen, President and CEO of the Ottawa Regional Cancer Foundation. “When you buy a ticket not only do you have a chance to win great prizes, but you also help to make a difference in the quality and timeliness of cancer care right here at home.”

The Answer to Cancer lottery features a grand prize luxury home package worth over $1.5 million, plus 4300 other fabulous prizes with a combined value of more than $2.4 million. In addition to a final draw for five grand prize s, the lottery also offers an early bird draw where one lucky winner will take home over $80,000 in prizes including: a 2008 Ford Mustang convertible; an M-Y Home home theatre package; a 7 day Caribbean cruise; and a Cisco Ottawa Bluesfest 2009 Ultimate VIP package. The Early Bird draw will also award 2,300 lottery tickets as prizes.

Along with supporting cancer treatment in Ottawa area hospitals, a new partnership between the Ottawa Regional Cancer Foundation and the Ottawa Senators Foundation will also see a portion of the funds raised by the lottery directed to cancer-related treatment and support services at Roger’s House, a pediatric palliative and respite care facility located at CHEO.
